Auto Injury Treatment for Winter Garden

Auto Accident & Whiplash Injury

Have you or someone you know been involved in a motor vehicle accident? Whether you are hit in a parking lot or at a high speed, any car accident can result in injuries that negatively affect your quality of life. One of the most common injuries from a car accident is the damaging effect of whiplash. Whiplash occurs when a sudden, jarring movement of head is sustained backward, forward, or even to the side. The painful result is injury to ligaments, soft tissue, and the  discs of the neck and spine.

Any car accident can result in injuries that negatively affect your quality of life.

Common symptoms to look out for following an Auto Accident:

  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Blurred vision
  • Ringing in ears
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Numbness
  • Tingling in arms or legs
  • Reduced range of motion in the neck
  • Shoulder, arm pain
  • Neck stiffness

It is critical that chiropractic care is sought immediately after an auto accident since the seriousness of the physical effects of an accident is not always known or felt immediately following. It can sometimes take days, weeks, or even months for major symptoms to show up.

Untreated whiplash can result in chronic pain which can linger for years. Dr. Kimberly Soliman sees many patients with whiplash injury caused by an auto accident. Chiropractic treatments and exercise rehabilitation can help to heal these injuries, alleviating your symptoms and preventing chronic injury.

Understanding  Your Rights After an Auto Accident

In early 2012, Florida Legislature made sweeping changes to Florida’s no-fault automobile insurance law. Most significant were changes to the personal injury protection (PIP) component of your coverage that protects you should you be the unfortunate victim of an auto accident. While all Florida drivers will still be required to carry PIP coverage, the changes significantly alter how you will be able to seek and obtain medical care for your injuries following an accident.

New Time Limits in Seeking Treatment

The new (Florida PIP) law gives you only 14 days to seek medical care following the date of the accident. If you do not see a doctor during that time frame you will lose ability to use your PIP coverage for your medical bills and missing income from being unable to work. It is often common that high adrenaline levels that occur after an accident can mask many symptoms and pain; this is the body’s natural defense mechanism that helps us survive through emergencies, even when we are injured. Once the body has calmed, aches and pains often present themselves revealing injuries that were not apparent just hours before. This makes it critical to consult with Align Chiropractic Center even if there are no obvious symptoms. We will perform a comprehensive chiropractic, orthopedic and neurological examination to determine the extent of any injuries. At Align Chiropractic Center, we will create an individualized treatment plan to assist in healing your injuries.
